Last time…

Meredith and Rosena talking over dinner

“When were you going to tell me about this boy?!” She slammed her hands on the table slightly, and pushed her chair back roughly. “You know what? It doesn’t matter.” She stood then, and tossed her napkin on the table. “You never tell me anything anymore anyways.”

Odelia stormed out of the house after dinner that night, running from the table before Rosena or Meredith could say anything.

When had she stopped telling me things? Odelia wondered. Why has she stopped talking to me? When had my mother taken my place?

Odelia saw the way her mother looked at her…and couldn’t ignore the fact that things weren’t fixed between them yet…

I won't talk to you!

But is mom even trying to fix things? She asked herself. I came back to help…I came back hoping to fix everything. But does she like having me around?

she prefers my mother over me

Rosena was always talking to Meredith, normally leaving Odelia out of the conversation unless Meredith pulled her in.

We’ve hardly been here a month…how come they’ve gotten so friendly already? Meredith didn’t even know about her grandmother until dad died! And now…

It finally hit her, as she lost her balance and fell to ice.

Odelia fell skating

“Mom is stealing my daughter away from me,” Odelia whispered to the open air around her. “My mother loves my daughter more then me…”

“If you can get it running,” Rosena gestured to the rusted car sitting in the driveway. “Then I don’t see why you can’t use it.”

Meredith working on the car

Meredith happily started working on fixing the car up. She spent time in her room reading books on how to repair it.

Meredith making a face

She tried asking Odelia for help but never got very far…

“And how are your grades?” Rosena asked over dinner one night. “I don’t want that old car to cause a drop in your schoolwork.”

“Oh grandma!” Meredith waved her hand, as if blowing the question away. “Of course not. I’m still keeping my grades up.” She smiled softly between bites. “My homeroom teacher even said that mechanics is a great thing to learn, and recommended some more books.” She turned to her mother beside her and addressed her. “And he said that it’s good to know so you don’t get ripped off, right mom?”

Meredith and Rosena talking over dinner

At hearing her daughter actually talking to her, Odelia dropped her spoon in her bowl. “Oh, yeah…” she mumbled softly.

Meredith ignored her mother’s response, and continued talking to Rosena. “Brant even said it was great “for a girl” to know how to fix a car.” She blushed slightly at Brant’s name, but kept going. “And you know how I want to impress him and-“

“You what?!” Odelia quickly addressed her daughter, her spoon still sitting in her bowl. “When were you going to tell me about this boy?!” She slammed her hands on the table slightly, and pushed her chair back roughly. “You know what? It doesn’t matter.” She stood then, and tossed her napkin on the table. “You never tell me anything anymore anyways.”

3. dear diary

Meredith writing in her diary

I expected my grandmother to be some…horrible person, after what mom has told me. But I’m slowly learning that my mom was wrong. Is wrong.

Ever since we arrived, my mother as avoided my grandmother. And the more time I spend with my grandmother, my mother avoids me.

Odelia eating

I love my mother, but my grandmother is so nice and so kind. And I feel like my mother doesn’t want to stay.

What’s going to happen to me if my mother wants to leave again? Will I be forced away from my grandmother? Or will I be forced to choose between my mother and my grandmother?

I hate to say this, but if I had to choose between them…I’m not sure mom will be happy with my choice.

2. bonding time

“Mom has never really liked music, but I played violin in school.” Meredith was happy to hear that her grandmother had a piano and a violin in her house.

“Would you mind playing for me?” Rosena showed Meredith into the music room. “I have always enjoyed music, and it would bring me great joy to hear you play!”

Meredith adjusted the shoulder rest and set the instrument on her shoulder. “I’m afraid I’m very out of practice and rusty, but I’ll try my best.”

playing together

After running a few scales with Rosena, Meredith put the violin down. “Thanks for keeping me in tune.” She gently rubbed her fingers. “I’ll be glad to pick it back up again.”

Rosena smiled softly. “And I will be very glad to help you.” She stood then and gestured to the door. “Come, let me show you your room.”

Meredith's room

Meredith found herself in a small room in the corner of the house. “It’s larger then my old room!” She exclaimed, running her fingers along the desk. “I even have a desk! And a bookshelf!!”

“Your mother said you liked these books,” Rosena pointed out the few books on the shelf. “So I got them for you.”

Meredith turned to her grandmother then and wrapped her arms around her middle. “The room is wonderful! Thank you grandma.”

thanks grandma!

1. the loss of a father

Farley family

“Hello?” Odelia’s confident voice rang out over the phone.

Rosena hestated. Her daughter sounded so happy, was it right for her to ruin that with her news? “Odelia?” She finaly asked after a moment or two.

“Mom?” Odelia replied with a shaky breath. How long had it been since she’d heard her mother’s voice?

Rosena paused again. “Your father’s…gone, Odelia. He’s gone.”

“Meredith, honey?” Odelia hesitantly knocked on her daughter’s bedroom dorm.

“Yeah, what is it?” Meredith put her book down and looked up at her mother. “Hey, have you been crying?”

Odelia swiped at her cheeks again. “I’m afraid I’ve just had some upsetting news…”

welcome home hug

“Meredith! I’m so glad you’ve decided to come stay with me.” Rosane held her granddaughter at arm’s length. “Now, let me look at you!”

let me look at you!

“You look just like your mother.” Rosane teared slightly. “Now, come inside before we’re drenched!”

02-07-18_9-39-56 PM

Oh, really now? I’d love to see you try.

02-07-18_9-50-38 PM

Cats. All they do is eat, sleep, poop, and fight. Sounds about right, doesn’t it?

02-07-18_9-58-37 PM

While I’ve been spamming sharing the cat pictures with y’all, these do have become an item. Yes, Hailey met a guy while at the bar. This is Giovanni, an alien.

02-07-18_10-35-27 PM

Somehow she’s managed to level her piano skill up to 6, finishing half of her aspiration already!!

02-07-18_10-38-43 PM

The purple one left the seat up. :3

02-07-18_10-44-17 PM

Why there are lit candles WITHIN REACH right after a fire that nearly killed the purple one…I will never understand the redhead.

1. it all started with curling

02-07-18_3-59-17 PM

I bet you’re wondering what the story is behind this sim…there is none. I just wanted to play with cats and try to finish some aspirations.

But why name the cat Canada? Well, I told my friend my mom was watching Canada curl and he thought I was talking about a cat not the sport. So Hailey adopted a cat and named it Canada…then followed that cat up with another one, named America.

Basically I decided to share one of my current households because the cats are funny and I like adding funny things alongside the pictures.

So enjoy the silliness that ensures.

02-07-18_7-47-48 PM

Canada…didn’t seem to like being Hailey’s new cat…I wonder why that might be.

02-07-18_7-50-58 PM

America…got lost in her hair.

02-07-18_7-51-45 PM

But he’s the cutest little kitten!

02-07-18_7-54-20 PM

And the welcome wagon comes and uses steals the yoga mat. Canada exacts revenge.

02-07-18_8-04-57 PM

Like real cats, they like to follow Hailey into the bathroom…

02-07-18_8-58-24 PM

Random sparkles indicate America’s adulthood. 🙂

02-07-18_8-59-20 PM

Meow, my couch. Meow.

02-07-18_9-03-20 PM

Fine, I won’t fight you for the couch…

02-07-18_9-03-38 PM

I’ll just meow for attention instead!!

02-07-18_9-04-37 PM

You might be black, but I’m cuter.

02-07-18_9-04-52 PM

02-07-18_9-26-51 PM

Mistakes were made! while Hailey is at the bar

02-07-18_9-27-56 PM

Ugh, cat hair somehow manages to get EVERYWHERE.

02-07-18_9-35-54 PM

Mhm, fruit salad…

fruitcake

Sorry America, but I don’t think that’s the same fruit salad Hailey is enjoying…

4. Dancing

Dear Alan,
Thanks again for the lovely night out. I really enjoyed myself. Did you have fun as well?
I would like to get to know you better, so don’t be a stranger, okay?
With love, Missy.

Screenshot-54

Missy quickly wrote Alan a little thank you note. Before she had the chance to seal the letter, Alan rang to ask Missy out for another night on the town. “Since it’s starting to rain, let’s dress informally for the weather, alright?” She said yes, of course.

Screenshot-28

For whatever reason, Alan sent a cab to fetch Missy, instead of driving her himself. Possibly he didn’t like the quiet ride they had shared before? Or maybe he just planned on getting sloshed and didn’t want to leave his car downtown.

Screenshot-29

Missy had barely walked through the door when Alan pulled her close to him.  There was another man close by playing a soft tune on the piano, “perfect for dancing,” as Alan had said.

Screenshot-31

And so they danced.

3. Out for a date

It’s strange who you meet on the street sometimes. But does that stop you from becoming friends? Of course not. That certainly didn’t stop Alan Stanley from taking one look at Missy’s unforgettable face and asking for her number.

Screenshot-27

Nor did it stop him from asking her out on a date. And Missy being lonely couldn’t say no. So she agreed to meet him at 5…or have him pick her up at her apartment by 5.

Screenshot-53

They sat in silence for most of the ride. However, Alan did catch Missy up on his latest script. There wasn’t much to say about it though, as it was still in the early stages.

Together they talked on an empty lot about lots of different things. His job, the lack of hers. Her painting, his hair loss. Slowly but surely they became better acquainted, and Missy actually started liking him as a friend. But she didn’t need a friend, she needed a lover, or a husband. Someone to care for her. So when the stars came out, Missy asked Alan to stargaze with her.

She sat beside him at first, still with some space between them. But then she started flirting and flattering him before she slowly scooted closer to him. They gazed into each other’s eyes and she wrapped her arm around him. And that was all it took to have him wrapped around her finger. Alan had fallen head over heels for Missy, and Missy was happy that she had a man who actually cared.

1.2 Gardening

Wimberly sang softly while she watered her plants. It had been a week now, since she’d moved in and her garden was doing well.

10-24-17_11-18-32 AM

She enjoyed the sun’s rays, like her mother wanted her to. She also liked to sit on her porch and meditate. Sometimes, she could hear her mother’s voice drifting along with the wind. And she knew her mother was watching over her, helping to keep her safe.

10-24-17_11-05-37 AM

One day, not unlike the others, she heard a deep voice behind her: “That’s a nice garden you’ve got there.” And Wimberly jumped, nearly dropping her watering can.

10-24-17_11-46-27 AM

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m Marcus, Marcus Flex.” He jokingly flexed his bicep.

10-24-17_11-45-13 AM

“Oh, no, no, you’re fine.” Wimberly quickly rushed to reassure him. “I was just thinking of many things. And I haven’t really spoken to anyone in days…or at least, I think it’s been days…” She blushed slightly and waved her hand in front of her face. “Anyways, thanks for the compliment. I’m Wimberly Bean, and it’s so nice to meet you. Please, come sit for a while.”

10-24-17_11-48-52 AM

And sit they did. Together, the two talked for hours; until Marcus realized the time and so they said their goodbyes.
